Every day, animals like this face unimaginable
abuse and cruelty...
Thanks to your help,
Shadow has a second chance at life.

When I see the cruelty and neglect animals like Shadow have endured, it breaks my heart — and makes me furious! I know you’ll feel the same when you hear his story...
As a puppy, one of Shadow’s hind legs had been broken. Because his owners didn’t get him proper medical care, the injury healed incorrectly and his left leg dragged behind him uselessly.
I know you agree —
animal cruelty is ABSOLUTELY WRONG.

Thankfully, there is a happy ending to his story — made possible by YOU and your past generosity.
Shadow was rescued and brought to the Humane Society of Fairfax County. This sweet boy was timid at first, but lots of love and affection were just what he needed to heal his spirit. And our vets performed surgery to heal his damaged leg, allowing him to walk again with only a slight limp.
Today, Shadow has a new life and a forever home. He was adopted by a caring couple, and he loves to run, hike and fetch now that he has the full use of his leg again.
How I wish every animal could enjoy the comforts of a loving home and  family. But lately we’ve seen an increase in the number of animals brought to us, and I fear there will soon be even more animals like Shadow who are cruelly abandoned, neglected or simply left to fend for themselves on
the streets.
I know you are dedicated to protecting our furry friends who can’t defend themselves — that’s why we need your help now more than ever before. Please ... can we count on your support so we can help provide “second chances” for more local animals like Shadow?
Your gift today will help us:
    •            Stop abuse and help animals who are mistreated
    •            Provide medical care when needed
    •            Shelter and feed animals until an adoptive family can be found
    •            Prevent overpopulation through spay and neuter services, and so much more
Every day we visit with the animals in our care … and we see their big, trusting eyes looking back at us. These brave cats, dogs and other animals have gone through so much. But our resources are stretched so thin, and the cost of caring for each animal continues to rise.
It is up to each one of us to ensure that animals in our community are protected against cruelty, neglect and mistreatment.
Because if Shadow could talk, I know he’d want to thank you for mending his leg and finding him a loving family. Please send a tax-deductible gift today. You’ll be saving the next needy animal who comes our way, and that’s a great feeling.

Warmest Regards,
