HSFC Foster Cats for Adoption

The Humane Society for Fairfax County has the following cats at various homes in the County and are shown at Petsmart locations according to this Adoption Schedule. Additional cats are located at the HSFC location in downtown Fairfax and can be seen by clicking here.

Claire - DSH
Age (Yrs.): 6 - Spayed Female -
HSFC Foster

Prefers to be only cat or with another cat not wanting much interaction with her. Not good for small kids, but fine for first-time cat owner.Like many tortoiseshell cats, Claire is a sweet, talkative lap cat who knows what she wants and is not afraid to ask for it. She responds to the "cat voice" by running over to get attention regardless of whether she is actually the cat being addressed. If she thinks she's not had enough one-on-one attention lately, she will come up and tell you personally.

Dadio - DSH
Age (Yrs.): 6 - Neutered Male -
HSFC Foster

Dadio is such the robust "good 'ole boy!" With his black and white markings, he reminds me of a man wearing a white undershirt! Who would be hanging with the guys, watching the games, drinking beer... He loves his head rubbed, mostly. Be respectful of those other parts! He will suddenly appear, especially when you are down on the floor or sitting, more at his level. Very "chatty," he will tell you about his day and do some increasingly passionate head butts and rubs, especially to your hair. I think he likes blonds! (As well as other cats.) As this escalates, he starts to hug your head and give "love bites," which is when I break up that love fest! And, he takes this just fine. Not good as companion to small children.

Dulci - DSH Calico
Age (Yrs.): 5 - Spayed Female -
HSFC Foster

Very playful. Would make a great friend for another cat that needs a "perpetual kitten" playmate. Likes to sleep on the foot of the bed or your feet at night. Other than "hard play," her favorite past time is eating!

Lila - DSH torti
Age (Yrs.): 5 - Spayed Female -
HSFC Foster

Lila is quite the hostess with the mostess. She enjoys greeting visitors at the door, interacting with everyone she meets, then walking them to the door to say good-bye. She has a kitten side as well, and performs quite impressive jumps when playing with her feather toy or just chasing after her mouse toys. In her foster parents’ book she is the epitome of a purr-fect kitty, she has even converted her foster parents’ dog loving friends. Lila hopes to find a forever family that will appreciate her beauty and sweetness and gives her the love and attention that she craves and deserves.

Violet - Dilute Tortoise Shel
Age (Yrs.): 5 - Spayed Female -
HSFC Foster

Violet has the mischievous and frisky kitten in her that never grows up! The female counterpart to "Dennis the Menace," sometimes! So lovable but "looking for trouble." I think she is very smart and gets bored easily. SHE thinks it fun to startle causing a cat stampede! It is hysterical when she plays with her own feet! She expects fresh water sips from the faucet. Very nosey about everything and every cat, whatever is going on, she also knows what I am thinking when I am going to get her in a carrier. She can be very sweet and wants to come to you for affection but not too much handling, when she is in the mood. Not a pushover and can lose her temper if provoked. So, not good for small children.
